Bilingual Director of Religious Education
Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS is seeking a Director of Religious Education. This Director must be a practicing Catholic, in good standing with the Church. He or she is a person of prayer, committed to the authentic teaching of the Catholic faith. Additionally the Director must be bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish, possess the skills to write, speak, and translate both languages, and be able to run a bilingual program.
The Director will report to the Parish Manager, will work with other staff members to foster and maintain a working environment where worship, prayer, hospitality and learning are the primary motivators.
Qualifications: Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, fluent in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing), and possess strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Experience in parish ministry, OCIA, adult faith formation, outreach, or volunteer coordination is required. A degree or formal formation in theology, pastoral ministry, or a related field is desirable.
Full-time position averaging 40 hours per week, with the Archdiocesan benefits package. Requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and special parish events as necessary.
