Founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1551, the Pontifical Gregorian University has prepared generations of priests, religious women and men, and lay leaders to serve the Church and the world. Today, students from the US and more than 120 countries come to the Gregorian seeking the intellectual, spiritual, and pastoral formation they need to become pastors, educators, missionaries, scholars, chaplains, and leaders in their communities.
The impact of that formation extends far beyond Rome. Every graduate returns home carrying what they have learned into parishes, schools, universities, dioceses, hospitals, and ministries around the world. One person formed can serve thousands over a lifetime.
